Electricians are well-respected in the trades industry. They specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems, but more than that, they are expected to perform other duties such as planning projects, and installing new or upgrading old systems, lighting fixtures, receptacles, or wiring. Plumbing Pre-
Apprenticeship Program

As an apprentice under our Plumbing Pre-apprenticeship program, you’ll gain knowledge and the right skill set to become one of the most sought-after apprentices in the plumbing industry. Under this program, students will learn to specialize in installing and maintaining water systems, such as those used for potable (drinking) water, sewage, and drainage systems. Skilled Trades College’s Cambridge campus is a training centre known for producing top-class graduates who stand out from the rest.

Intro to Home
Renovation

Because of Ontario’s booming construction industry, there’s never been a perfect time to undergo training and start a career in home renovation. Skilled Trades College’s Intro to Home Renovation program was designed to meet the need for skilled trade workers. Students in this course learn the basics of framing, drywall, taping, footings, vapour barrier, insulation, masonry (brick-laying), rough-in electrical, rough-in plumbing, and other relevant general construction work. Through hands-on training in a simulated on-the-job setting, apprentices will be taught the proper usage of tools and the application of correct techniques. This program also offers students all the relevant safety certifications once they graduate.
